New Years Eve Crafts For Kids:
If your idea of a fun New Years Eve is to spend it at home and you would like to have a few fun things to do to keep your child(ren) busy and happy try these crafts.
1. Create a New Years Eve Ball by visiting your local supermarket or .99Cents store and purchasing a bouncy ball. Get your silver tinsel garland from your pile of Christmas decorations and with a glue gun have some fun making your own NYE Ball.
2. Grab a brown paper lunch bag and with construction paper draw a clock. On the hour, every hour let your child(ren) open up the bag to find a different goodie or prize inside. Keep it simple by placing a small piece of candy or a cookie. Or blow up several balloons and with a sharpie draw a clock on each one. Let your child pop the balloon on the hour each hour. Fill the last balloon with confetti and let your child pop the last one.
3. Make your own noisemaker. This is my personal favorite because it is the cheapest and your kid(s) get to be creative without much parental direction. Have your lil one decorate one paper plate, when they are done staple the plate together. Toward the end of stapling add some beads, beans, coins or popcorn kernals or jingle bells. Lastly, glue on a popsicle stick and let them have some fun.
4. Create your own party hats and let your child(ren) decorate them. This is fun and can be used with simple constructions paper. After they have decorated their constructions paper staple into a cone like shape and let them look super cool for the night.
5. If you have a clean empty soup can simple make a small hole on the top with a knife and pull though an attached string with jingle bells tied to the ends. Use good tape (not scotch tape) and tie a big knot of the outer side of the can to keep the string from falling. Yes, this will drive you crazy but your kid(s) will love it.
New Years Eve Snack Ideas:
1. Apple Cider in a plastic champagne cup is always a fun treat for the kids.
2. Bake some cookies and make them colorful by adding M&M’s
3. Sprinkle Milk Glasses. Get a small milk glass for your child and let them enjoy their colorful M&M cookies with a glass of milk with sprinkles around the rim of the glass.
