Explorer Informational Seminar @ the Altadena CHP Office

The Altadena CHP office is having an Explorer Informational Seminar next week. February 28th 2018 at 7:00 pm. The Explorer program is designed for young men and women, 15 to 21 years of age, allowing them to develop the skills and knowledge needed to serve the people of California through discipline and a commitment to serving their community. Explorers assist the CHP both in the office and out in the field. They get valuable experience that they can apply directly in the future if they decide to pursue a career in Law Enforcement. Many tools that they will learn as an Explorer can be used in day to day living and can help them with extra curricular activities while applying for College, and can help them P.R. skills that they will use the rest of their lives. They get to build relationships and friendships with fellow Explorers and the community they will serve in. Explorers receive all sorts of special training which is in itself valuable in all aspects of life. They get to participate in physical fitness training, medical training, clerical training and organizational skills.  As an Explorer, your son or daughter gets to attend Community Service events, staff DUI Checkpoints, participate in ride-alongs with Officers, traffic control, CHiP's for Kids, Explorer meetings and compete in Explorer Competitions/Games. 

The requirements are this.....

You must 

Be between the age of 15-21

Have an interest in Law Enforcement

Have at least a 2.0 GPA

Have NO drug or alcohol us

Have good citizenship

Have NO felony convictions
