A few weeks ago I was at Coffee Con! And while I was there I stumbled upon the Imperfect Produce booth. After speaking with them, and learning about their mission statement and their cause. I found out that more than 20% of the vegetables and fruit grown in the United States never actually make it off the farm. They don't get purchased for grocery stores because they don't meet their standards. They just aren't pretty. As silly as this may sound it happens. So what happened in the past with all that not so pretty or up to standard produce? It gets wasted. This results in billions of pounds of wasted produce annually. So this company, Imperfect Produce decided to do something and purchase some. It's just as tasty, nutritious and healthy as it's "Perfect" counterparts. Imperfect Produce decided to find a home for this "ugly" produce. They buy directly from local farmers and they deliver to the customer doors for 30-50% less than most grocery stores.

I decided to try their subscription box of Imperfect Produce. And you know what? It's PERFECT!! It's delivered right to your door, and it's nice an cold. The box is very sturdy and you can totally reuse it. It comes with a weekly recipe cards and info. So you can start a new recipe card collection of your new imperfect friends. Our first week we got a variety box of fruit and veggies. I let them pick. We received, yellow bell peppers, tangerines, oranges, grapefruit, apples, carrots, lettuce and cilantro. And it was ALL gone FAST! We had one fabulous salad, stuffed bell peppers, lime cilantro rice, and fruit to snack on. The second week I decided to pick my items, and we received organic carrots and standard carrots, cilantro, parsley, red onions, avocados, asian pears, lemons, tangerines, celery, yellow onion and gold potatoes. In one day we had another fabulous salad, veggies peeled and cut for snacks, more lime cilantro rice. Which I will totally share next week my recipe. Tomorrow I am using the potatoes and onions. It's chili night and my Award Winning Blue Ribbon Chili will be made. We have fruit for our High Schoolers lunch and our Pre Schoolers snacks. Plus I have snacks. We love to cook so this is right up our alley, and challenging us all as a family to eat ALL our box weekly.

You can pick your subscription to fit your needs, size and quantity. You can even customize your box to your likings or your meal plans the upcoming week. It is a perfect gift too!!
