June 14, 2018

BLOOM will host nearly a dozen large-scale installation art pieces, spread out over 100,000 square feet of lush grass in Griffith Park June 22, 23 and 24th. With giant dandelions to wish under, a rolling field of pinwheel poppies and their signature “Bed of Roses,” BLOOM will have visitors playing in rose petals and weaving themselves into a sea of jacaranda. With a focus on handcrafted art, BLOOM aims to leave your spirit uplifted and your camera full of fun pictures. Edible flowers and delectable treats are provided by Gourmet Sweet Botanicals, allowing guests to truly explore all five of their senses.

BLOOM invites guests to play, snap a selfie (or 500), stick their toes in the soil, envelop themselves in the scent of wild jasmine, soak in a tub of fresh lavender and picnic under the flower tepees with a selection from one of our food trucks.

The Valley Hive will be providing information about how to keep your garden friendly to pollinators as they deliver lively, educational presentations and sticky-sweet honey tastings. BLOOM is partnered with Honeylove, a nonprofit conservation organization with a mission to protect the honeybees and inspire and educate new urban beekeepers.

Designed for all ages, BLOOM has several events throughout each day that will appeal to families, couples and groups of friends alike. There are workshops ranging from photography to essential oils, a Summer Solstice celebration featuring Leroy and the Bad Browns and a Sunday morning interactive music class for kids. With face painters, communal art projects and florists from Iris Barry Blooms weaving crowns of blossoms, BLOOM is reinventing what a Pop-Up Art Show can offer.

With a focus on Los Angeles, this initial event will feature many local artists and evolve as BLOOM moves to new cities in the future. Tickets are limited for this inaugural engagement and there will be timed entry to optimize your ability to interact with the installations.
