The city of San Gabriel is building a NEW playground at Smith Park!! This has been long awaited and VERY exciting for the community! BUT, we NEED your HELP! The city is in need of 75 volunteers from the community to help us build this park. Build day will occur on Thursday March 14th 8:00 A.M. to approximately 2:30 PM with the ribbon cutting. We plan to have a day of fun AND memories too. Games and prizes for those helping out! And lunch/continental breakfast for all those who register as a volunteer! If you love San Gabriel, and your heart is still there..... Come out and help us. We need you to bring play to kids at Smith Park.
We need more than 75 volunteers from the San Gabriel community to help us give area kids the childhood they deserve by building a new playground supported by The CarMax Foundation.
Thursday, March 14
8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Smith Park

San Gabriel, CA 91776
- Volunteers should be age 18+ and will assemble playground pieces, mix concrete, move mulch, etc.
- Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and closed toe shoes; leave valuables at home.
- Youth activities provided.
- Gloves, goggles, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.
- The day will be filled with hard work and a special visit from the LA Clippers!
Play is central to a child’s ability to grow into a productive adult. Together, we can ensure kids get the balance of play they need to thrive! Please join us and show that play matters to you.
