It's that time of year! Time for the San Gabriel Mission District to get a little SPOOKY!! The San Gabriel FallFestival is a whole street festival dedicated to ALL things Fall and Halloween! The Mission District is decked out in decor and ambiance. Mission Drive will be closed for the entire festival. Parking is available at the Mission Play House parking lot, San Gabriel Mission and surrounding surface streets. Make sure you read before you park.
You can enjoy Trunk or Treating with local clubs, organizations and local small businesses. Visit the Pumpkin Patch for amazing photo opportunities. The Pumpkin Patch is located on the grassy area next to the fountain. Walk down Mission Drive and play games. Visit with our community heroes S.G.F.D. and S.G.P.D. And other community members.
There will be food trunks on site and several of the amazing restaurants and dessert/coffee shops on Mission Drive will be open. You can register for the costume contest NOW. Pre-registration can be done online or over the phone by calling the San Gabriel Community Services Department. I highly suggest to do this ahead of time. Day of registration will start at 5:00 PM and promptly close at 6:00 PM. New this year..... The Costume Contest will be held inside the Mission Playhouse on stage. 6:30-7:30 pm. Awards will be given at 7:30.
If you like Spooky things, then take a Haunted Tour of the Mission Playhouse at 8:00. Perfect for those who enjoy the paranormal, historical places and haunted places.
And don't forget to visit the Haunted Zone at the Grapevine Arbor Park. Don't put off the line too long, It does get filled up toward the end of the evening. The Haunted Zone is put on by our very own Gabrielino High School Theater and Stage Crew. The kids do a phenomenal job each year. The Haunted Zone is directed by a very special teacher and mentor at Gabrielino High School, JC Gafford. Come support them and enjoy some SPOOKY fun!!
After the Fall Festival is over, stick around and watch a FREE viewing of the classic Hocus Pocus inside the Mission Playhouse.
